Sharifah's Wedding!

The pictures are up! Sharifah and James had a beautiful wedding in the Denver Botanic Gardens. Family and friends gathered to celebrate this happy day - Joseph and I got to catch up with DSST people, and Jon got some great money shots!
You'll notice there aren't a lot of black and white photographs. The gardens and Sharifah's bridesmaids dresses were so colorful, who could desaturate all that beauty?

Wedding Weekend; Chapter One

Who thought that weddings could be so exhausting? The Pings family drove to the Roaring Fork area early Saturday morning for Lindsay and Taylor's "backyard" wedding in Woody Creek. You can see the river flowing in the background! After our brief tour around Basalt, we lunched like a local at the Two Rivers Cafe! Great French toast by the way... It turned out to be a beautiful day for celebrating marriage, drinking wine, visiting old Pings' homesteads, and eating yummy cupcakes! We even had some time at the end of the evening to stop in Aspen, drive over Independence Pass, take snapshots of the family, and enjoy fine dining at Wendy's. Despite getting home late after a long day in the car {about 8 hours}, Joseph still managed to have energy to watch Gossip Girl. I slept on the couch.

The Graduating Class

The pictures are posted and the graduates have made the grade!

Jon and I photographed graduation a few Saturdays ago and we've organizing as much as possible in between work and family life to get our pictures edited, published, and printed.

We used the AF Zoom-Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED on Jon's D200, but I have a feeling he didn't want to stop shooting with that amazing depth of field and zoom capabilities. Despite the soreness of his arms after carrying the lens+camera+battery pack for the entire ceremony, I have a feeling an AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 is going to show up on his Christmas wish list {mine too}!

We have decided to post the pictures on Pictage due to it's excellent professional quality and it's easy to use features. This allows individuals to order any picture they would like in any shape or form. They can even create packages to choose from.

Welcome to s.pings studio blog!

I'm terribly excited to get the studio started, film loaded, and people & places to photograph!

Joseph is responsible for starting and creating s.pings studio. He has always told me to do what I love... and voilà!

Our friend, Jon, also helped get the studio on it's feet. He offered his knowledge of business, technology, and aesthetic eye to help my dream become reality! Thanks Jon! This May we will tag-team shooting graduation at our school! This will mark two years in a row of graduation photography!
